Saint Martin @ ArtWorks

This summer two of our students participated in a program called ArtWorks sponsored by Young Audiences, a 6 week summer program where students are paid minimum wage 5 days a week to participate in different arts such as dance, fashion, showmanship and magic, video production and media, jazz and vocals.

At last night’s end of the summer performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Daie Garrett participated in dance and was chosen to perform the night’s only solo and Kai Carter participated in fashion, designing pieces in the runway show.

Read more about the show and program in the Plain Dealer article here…

Below is Daie pictured with cousins Jazmine and Jeanita Blue (who came to watch the show by bus, after a full day of work at Recovery Resources and Sherwin Williams respectively) and Kai pictured with her models wearing designs created by her from all recycled materials.
