Saint Martin, the Cristo Rey Network Featured in Plain Dealer and Wall Street Journal

Thursday, May 20 was a great day of publicity for Saint Martin and the Cristo Rey Network as Saint Martin was featured by Regina Brett and our Network was featured in The Wall Street Journal.

Regina Brett’s column in the Plain Dealer featured the six members of the Saint Martin Class of 2010 who were honored at our Academic Signing Day. Christopher Barnes, Shirley Jordan, Ariel Powell, Dawn Ramsey, Indira Samuels, and Javier Woodall were recognized for their academic achievement in the same way that top athletes from across the country are recognized at signing days. Chris, Shirley, Ariel, Dawn, Indira, and Javier announced that they would attend Denison University, Spelman College, Oberlin College, Case Western Reserve University (both Dawn and Indira will attend Case), and Central State University.

Daniel Henninger, a Cleveland native, featured the Cristo Rey Network in The Wall Street Journal. Henninger wrote about the good work Cristo Rey Network schools are doing and the innovative Corporate Work Study Program, noting that CWSP includes our students in a decades-old tradition: “This is the honorable tradition of working your way through school.”
